FG approves re-opening of Seme Border for vehicle importation.

 The Federal Government has approved the re-opening of the Seme border for the importation of vehicles. Director of Road Transport in the Ministry of Transportation, Ibrahim Musa who made the announcement on Wednesday, June 21, during his speech at the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) meeting organised between officials of Nigeria and Benin, said they decided to reopen the border following complaints by freight forwarders operating in the area.  Musa said;  “I was here with the former Minister of State for Transportation when the Freight Forwarders pleaded that the border should be reactivated for the free movement of goods and services. “The former minister made us prepare a memo to that effect. As Fubara Charges Labour To Embrace Dialogue  Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara  says modalities are being put in place by the Government to roll out transport palliative to cushion the high cost of transportation caused by the removal of petrol subsidy. Governor Fubara disclosed this when the State leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) paid him a solidarity visit at Government House Port Harcourt on Tuesday.  Nurse and two other staff arrested over missing placenta inside  Hospital The Police have arrested a nurse, health assistant and security guard at the Comprehensive Health Centre, Emure-IIe, Owo Local Government Area, over the mysterious disappearance of a baby’s placenta.  Confirming the incident to newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Olufunmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, explained that the three persons were arrested after the 23-year-old father of the new born baby, Tunde Ijanusi, made a complaint of the incident at the Emure-Ile Police Division H. She said the 19-year-old nursing mother gave birth to a baby girl on June 15 at the health center and when the father of the baby asked for the placenta, the nurse and her assistant could not produce it.  FUBARA TELLS CP TO MAKE RIVERS UNSAFE FOR CRIMINALS  Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara hosted Mr. Nwoyi Polycarp Emeka, the new commissioner of police posted to Rivers State on a courtesy visit. The police commissioner was accompanied by a retinue of principal police officers within the Rivers State Command. They were received at the executive chamber of government house in Port Harcourt.  Former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has debunked claims of being on the run.  It was alleged that Malami left the country in a bid to evade arrest and investigation following the suspension of Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, over his conduct while in office by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday, June 14.  It was reported that the former Minister was invited by the EFCC who are interested to find out what led to the alleged loss of over $2.4 billion in revenue from the illegal sale of 48 million barrels of crude oil export in 2015 including all crude oil exports and sales by Nigeria from 2014 till date.  Speaking to Daily Trust, he said;  “I have not been invited by the EFCC or any other anti-corruption agency in Nigeria.
