Their actions appeared being used as a cover up for the purported attempt to impeach some people.

Governor Fubara stated this on Monday morning when he visited the premises of the Assembly Complex to inspect the level of damage caused by the bombing that took place Sunday's night.

While the governor approached the Assembly Complex, some compromised police officers sprayed water, shot at him and also used tear gas canisters.

Those attempts were apparently to discourage the governor from gaining access.

Governor Fubara who was greeted by well-meaning Rivers youths eventually inspected the damages done at the complex.

He described as unfortunate the attempt by some disgruntled persons to forcefully take over control of the Assembly as a repeat of what happened about 10 years ago.

The Governor, however described as null and void any illegal legislative actions that have been taken by some members who were said to have held a purported plenary session.

Governor Fubara assured that he remains the governor of the State.

Thereafter, governor Fubara took a long walk from the Assembly complex to Government House with Rivers youths accompanying.

He addressed them later commending them for standing up to protect the interest of Rivers State.

Governor Fubara stated that he is not scared about impeachment but such action has to be properly explained and justified.
