RIVERS APC LAMENTS COLLAPSE OF PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MOVE TO RECONCILE FUBARA, WIKE
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers State chapter, says it is disheartening that the efforts have failed made by President Bola Tinubu to settle the political rift between the Minister of Federal Capital Territory(FCT), Nyesom Wike, and the Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
Tony Okocha is the caretaker committee chairman of APC in Rivers State and he voiced his lamentation at a press conference that held at the APC national secretariat in Abuja on Thursday.
Okocha, who clarified that he was not part of those in attendance during the President’s intervention team but asserted strongly that the move to reconcile governor Fubara and Wike has broken down.
“I wasn’t part of it, but whatever that was, it has broken down, and it has been broken irreconcilably."
The Rivers APC caretaker committee chairman said that his party is already wooing Wike to leave the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) and defect to APC, which will make him the leader of the party in Rivers State.
“We are here to tell the world that we stand with the lawmakers. What they did is not an aberration. Defection is not new. In 2014, the PDP was run aground and the members left in droves to the opposing party.
“The PDP in Rivers has imploded and we are benefiting from the reward. We are telling the governor he cannot thrive on illegalities. I have given instruction to the legal adviser to petition the NJC to report the judge for delivering that ‘Jankara’ judgment.”
