''I won't vacate office in June 16th, if Dem born you well, show your face'' Ikwerre LGA chairman dares Gov Fubara. The Chairman, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Dr Samuel Nwanosike, has dared governor Siminalayi Fubara, saying he will not vacate his office at the end of his tenure on June 16.   Nwanosike directly addressed the state governor in a video, stating his intention to remain in office beyond the stipulated date. He cited an extension of tenure by state lawmakers under the leadership of Martin Amaghule as justification due to the state government’s failure to conduct local government elections.   Nwanosike asserted that he would continue in his role and warned that the people of Ikwerre LG would resist any attempt to remove him from office.   He declared, “Let them come and try to remove me if they dare. The countdown begins—23 more days to go.” He added, “Who are you to say Martins Amaewhule is not the Rivers House of Assembly ...

The Governor pointed to an event that happened on Tuesday, where miscreants attacked some persons who attended the inauguration of the Aleto-Ogale-Ebubu-Eteo Road project, on their way home, and said such show of animosity was utterly needless.  Governor Fubara gave the warning at Egbeda community, venue of the ceremony for the official flag-off of the Elele-Egbeda-Omoku Road project in Emohua Local Government Area on Thursday. He said: "Let me also say this here. When we left Aleto the other day, some people went there and attacked our people. There is no need for that.  "Nobody has the monopoly of violence. I should even be the one who should come out and shout that I will do this and that. But I don't ...

YOUR WOES CAUSED BY WIKE, PDP GROUP TELLS EMBATTLED RIVERS LAWMAKERS   The National Solidarity Vanguard of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike is the cause for the loss of 25 Rivers State Assembly seats. The group said: “Wike, once a prominent member of our party played a pivotal role in this monumental loss. His actions have cost us dearly, and we cannot remain silent. “To the extent that he has weakened the party for the APC, we can no longer consider him a member of our party. “We must express our anger, disappointment, and resolve to protect the integrity of the PDP. But why did this happen?  "Why did lawmakers who were elected on our platform abandon their mandates, and throw away twenty-five parliamentary seats ...
